The Eagles concluded the regular season before the MAC Outdoor Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University track and field programs produced a meet full of momentum at the Len Paddock Open, hosted by the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, Mich., May 8, as Eagles delivered a series of personal bests, an event win in the women's hurdles, and two nationally ranked triple jump performances.
 
How it Happened – Men
On the men's side, Gabe Oliveira (São Paulo, Brazil/Escola Estadual Jornalista David Nasser/Central Arizona) delivered a meet highlight, winning the triple jump with a personal best of 15.54m (51-00.00), which enters him at No. 7 on the EMU all-time list and No. 45 nationally this season in Division I.

Ray Glory-Ejoyokah (Southfield, Mich./Wylie E. Groves) continued his strong first-year campaign with a fifth-place finish in the discus (51.57m, 169-2), while Jake McEachern (Lloydminster, Alberta/Lloydminster Comprehensive) earned fifth in the hammer throw with a heave of 60.50m (198-6), and Leland Godfrey (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral) finished fifth in the shot put with a 16.68m (54-08.75) mark.

Michael Hawkins (Detroit, Mich./Cass Technical) advanced to the 110m hurdles final out of prelims with a time of 14.31. Samuel Jeffery (Fonthill, Ontario/E.L. Crossley Secondary) secured third in the long jump with a leap of 6.99m (22-11.25).
 
How it Happened – Women
The women's squad made its presence felt in hurdles and field events. Liusmar Rivas Velasquez (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) captured first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.02, while Mariia Yelanska (Dnipro, Ukraine) set a new personal best with 12.56m (41-02.50) in the triple jump, good for second place and No. 6 on the EMU all-time outdoor list, while also entering the Division I national top 100 for 2026.

Alimot Alowonle (Lagos, Nigeria/Tindip College) finished third in the long jump with a 5.55m (18-02.50) mark, and fourth in the triple jump (11.28m, 37-00.25).

Joining Rivas Velasquez in the 100m hurdles was Nikol Antoniadi (Didimoticho, Greece/Geniko Lykeio Didimotichou) taking fourth (14.28) and Shamoya Clemetson (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) placing fifth (14.33).

Personal bests continued with Tatyana Green (Troy, Ohio/Troy) notching a personal best in the discus (38.51m, 126-4), and Nicolette Lewis (Fairburn, Ga./Hoover) earning a hammer throw personal best (45.52m, 149-4).

The Eagles will next compete in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Outdoor Championships, hosted by Ball State University, at the Briner Sports Complex in Muncie, Ind., Thursday-Saturday, May 14-16.
