Track and Field Set for Two-Meet Weekend

Eastern will compete at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational and the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University track and field programs will have another two-meet weekend, with athletes competing at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational, hosted by the University of Louisville, April 23-25, and the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet, hosted by Grand Valley State University, April 24-25.
The Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. both Friday and Saturday.
The GVSU Extra Weekend Meet begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, and at 12 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Time at Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational
The Eagles last competed at the Clark Wood Invitational in the 2021-22 season. The men saw event wins in the 110m hurdles finals, the 1,500m, the 4x400m relay, and the triple jump. The women earned victories in the 400m, and the 3,000m steeplechase.
Last Time at GVSU Extra Weekend Meet
Eastern last competed at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet in the 2024-25 season. The Eagles were highlighted by Lachlan Cornelius running the 800m in 1:48.38, the eight best time in program history to win the event. Kian Wiles (Hull, England/St. Mary's College) followed shortly behind in 1:48.77 for second place.
Last Time Out: Split-Squad Weekend
The Eagles last competed in a two-meet weekend, as athletes were at both the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., April 16-17, and the Hillsdale "Gina" Relays in Hillsdale, Mich., April 17-18.
The Wake Forest Invitational was highlighted by Wiles, as he ran a best time in the 1,500m of 3:39.87, leading the conference by almost six seconds, and now holding the second fastest time in program history. Jimmy Geller (London, England/Davenant Foundation School) also ran a personal best in the 1,500m of 3:45.60 to now rank third in the conference.
At the Hillsdale Gina Relays, two men earned event wins as Bamidele Ajayi (Eikiti State, Nigeria/Metropolitan International College) claimed the victory in the 400m in a personal best time of 46.74, and Ray Glory-Ejoyokah (Southfield, Mich./Wylie E. Groves) won the discus throw championship with a 54.40m (178-05) toss.
The women also earned two victories as Kaydence Doxley (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood) won the long jump with a personal best leap of 6.07m (19-11.00), now holding the ninth best mark in program history, and Uduak Udosoh (Abak, Nigeria/Ibiaku Clan Community Secondary), as she won the 400m in a personal best time of 54.23. Additionally, Saraiah Walkes (Manatee County, Fla./The-Out-of-Door-Academy) ran an 11.58 in the 100m prelims, breaking the meet record.

Women's Team
- Saraiah Walkes leads the MAC in the 200m with a time of 23.57, along with having the second fastest time in the 100m of 11.58
- Saraiah Walkes and Josephine Oloye hold the second (53.51) and third (54.03) spots in the 400m, respectively
- The 4x400m relay team of Uduak Udosoh, Saraiah Walkes, Josephine Oloye, and Demetria Henderson hold the second fastest time of 3:37.69
- Kaydence Doxley has the second best long jump mark of 6.07m (19-11.00)
- Mariah Taylor ranks third in the triple jump with a 12.65m (41-06.00) mark
