YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- A slow start could not keep the Eastern Michigan University lacrosse team down for long as the Eagles used a 10-goal run to pull away from visiting Robert Morris University for a 13-3 Mid-American Conference victory on Senior Day at Scicluna Field in Ypsilanti, April 18, to continue their push toward a postseason berth. The Eagles (9-6, 4-2 MAC) broke the program record for wins in a season while downing the Colonials (4-11, 2-4 MAC) for the first time in five tries as nine different players scored goals while the defense clamped down and limited an opponent to the fewest goals in program history.

How It Happened
Eastern Michigan fell behind early, conceding the game's opening goal before Emerson Henry (Ashburn, Ontario/Donald A. Wilson) netted the equalizer late in the first quarter, sending the teams into the second stanza tied at 1-1. The second period saw Robert Morris grab momentum with back-to-back goals, building a 3-1 lead midway through the frame. Despite the deficit, the Eagles responded with goals from Mackenzie Blackwell (North Beach, Md./Northern) and Stella Burke (Peterborough, Ontario/St. Peter's Catholic Secondary) to send the contest into halftime tied at three.

The third quarter proved decisive as the Eagles kept their foot on the gas offensively while building a wall defensively. Kendall Nagle (Sudlersville, Md./Queen Anne's County) broke the deadlock with a game-changing tally, igniting a run that the Colonials could not answer. EMU rattled off five unanswered goals in the frame, including strikes from Katheryn Wilson (Dacula, Ga./Mill Creek) and Kelsea Dague (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), with creative play making from Tracy Grollman (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis Area Christian School) fueling the attack. The Eagles' defense, anchored by Maddy Porter (Montrose, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) in goal, clamped down completely, holding RMU scoreless for the entire second half.

Eastern's offensive onslaught continued into the fourth quarter with goals from Blackwell, Burke, Kyleigh Dill (Dover, Del./Dover) on a free-position shot, Mak Grisinger (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington/Central Michigan) and Abby Alderman (Lusby, Md./Patuxent), ultimately pushing the margin to 13-3. In total, nine different Eagles found the back of the net and the team assisted on nine of its 13 tallies with Grollman grabbing four of the helpers. The win also solidified the Eagles' position in the MAC standings and marked a breakthrough moment against a longtime conference foe.

Individual Notes
» Mackenzie Blackwell added four points to her program-record total (now at 214) with two goals and two assists, including one goal on the woman-up advantage that stood as the 40th of her career. Blackwell has now scored multiple goals in 51-of-64 career games and posted at least four points in nine contests. Additionally, she added one caused turnover and three ground balls, marking the fifth time this season she has recorded three scoops in a single game.
» Emerson Henry tallied two goals in the game to bring her season total to a career-high 28 goals as she has scored at least one goal in each of the last 10 games. Henry, who has scored multiple goals in eight contests this season, added a career-high three caused turnovers, marking only the fourth time in her career she recorded multiple takeaways.
» Katheryn Wilson scored twice to mark her fourth multiple-goal game of the season. She added two ground balls to tie her season high while adding one caused turnover to mark the first time she has scored twice, collected two or more ground balls, and recorded at least one caused turnover.
» Stella Burke recorded her first multiple goal game of the season as she found the back of the net twice. Her two scores also tied a career high after she scored twice at home against Youngstown State, March 23, 2025.
» Kendall Nagle's goal stood as the game-winner against the Colonials, marking her second career winning score and her second this year. Previously, she was credited with the winning goal at Austin Peay, March 1.
» Kyleigh Dill scored one goal and added an assist for two points on her Senior Day. It marked the second time this season she recorded at least one of each in the same game.
» Annika Wozney (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) recorded three caused turnovers and three ground balls to mark the third time in her career she has recorded at least of each in the same game. Her three caused turnovers also marked back-to-back games she has tallied three.
» Payton Bloedow (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake/Stony Brook) also posted three caused turnovers and added one ground ball. Her three takeaways tied her career high that she set earlier this season against Xavier, Feb. 14.
» Maddy Porter was not called upon to make as many saves as she did last week against UMass (16) as she finished the game with seven stops while adding seven ground balls and two caused turnovers. It marked the seventh time this year that she has recorded multiple takeaways while posting five or more ground balls for the seventh time in 2026.

Team Notes
» Eastern improved to 9-6 overall and 4-2 in MAC play while Robert Morris fell to 4-11 overall and 2-4 in league action.
» With the victory, the Eagles broke the program record for single-season wins, surpassing the eight recorded last year. The win also gave Eastern its fourth conference victory of the year, which tied for the most in a single season with the 2024 and 2025 teams that finished 4-2.
» The win was the first in the series with the Colonials after falling in the first four. Eastern also secured its first home win over Robert Morris and first MAC victory as well. It also marked the sixth time this year the Eagles have defeated an opponent for the first time and the second time in league play after also downing Central Michigan (April 4).
» Eastern found itself down, 3-1, with 9:56 to play in the second quarter before going on a 10-0 run to close the game. The 10-goal run is the second-longest in program history behind the 14-goal streak that opened the win at Detroit Mercy (March 19) earlier this year. The streak helped Eastern post its sixth come-from-behind victory in 2026.
» The defense pitched a shutout in the second half, marking the second time this year the Eagles blanked an opponent in a single half. The first game at Detroit Mercy (March 19) when EMU held the Titans scoreless in the first half of play.
» The three goals allowed to the Colonials are the fewest in program history, surpassing the four allowed to both Detroit Mercy (March 19, 2026) and Butler (March 27, 2025), both of which were played on the road. It also marked the seventh time in 2026 Eastern has held an opponent to single-digit goals scored.
» Following the game, the program honored 14 players as part of its annual Senior Day celebration, including: Abby Alderman, Amber Alderman (Lusby, Md./Patuxent), Caitlin Beahm (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North), Mackenzie Blackwell, Payton Bloedow, Samantha Borgert (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern), Gina D'Alessio (Ft.
