Eastern records multiple standout routines while facing No. 20 Ohio State, No. 18 NC State, and No. 16 Penn State

COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team placed fourth in a stacked quad meet against three ranked programs Sunday, March 8, inside the Covelli Center, finishing with a 194.725. No. 20 Ohio State claimed the top spot with a 197.150, followed by No. 18 NC State at 196.625 and No. 16 Penn State at 196.550. Eastern competed through a challenging field while recording six career-best routines and one season-best performance across the lineup.

How It Happened:
Eastern opened the meet on beam and posted a 48.775 team score. Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) led the Eagles with a 9.775 to place tied for 12th overall, while Keeley Kohler (Davison, Mich./Powers Catholic) followed with a 9.725. Jacquelyn Patterson (Mason, Ohio/Mason) and Katin Childress (Prosper, Texas/Prosper) each added 9.700 routines, and Macy Nihart (East Lansing, Mich./Home School) contributed a 9.500. Genae Daniel (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) competed in exhibition as Eastern began the meet with a steady rotation.

The Eagles moved to the floor and recorded a 48.550. Abby Brushwood (State College, Pa./State College Area) and Nihart led the lineup with matching 9.825s, while Kendall Landry (Frisco, Texas/Wakeland) and Priya Karle (Canton, Mass./Canton) each posted 9.800. Nihart's 9.825 marked a career best, while Landry and Karle each recorded career-high performances. Sanai Evans (Norcross, Ga./Paul Duke STEM) added a 9.750 for a career best as Eastern built momentum in the second rotation.

Eastern continued to vault and totaled a 48.400 team score. Daniel led the Eagles with a 9.800 to tie for eighth overall, while Lowe followed with a career-high 9.775. Georgie Slack (Uttoxeter, Staffordshire/Thomas Alleynes) added a 9.750, while Landry and Gwendelyn Cantu (Joliet, Ill./Providence Catholic) each posted 9.725. Brushwood contributed a 9.700 as the Eagles remained competitive in the third rotation.

Eastern closed the meet on uneven bars with a 49.000 team score. Lowe paced the lineup with a 9.775 to lead the Eagles, while Patterson matched that mark with a 9.775. Slack recorded a career-best 9.675, and Evans posted a season-best 9.575 in exhibition. Kohler added a 9.675, while Cantu and Daniel contributed scores of 9.650 and 9.625 to cap the meet.
