Eleko also reached the 500-rebound mark as an Eagle, becoming the 23rd player in program history to accomplish the feat

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University women's basketball student-athlete Sisi Eleko eclipsed the 1,000-rebounds mark with 13 rebounds in an 83-68 loss to Mid-American Conference opponent Ball State University Tuesday, Feb. 10, inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center.

Eleko (Montreal, Quebec/New Hope Academy/Canisius) also reached the 500-rebound mark as an Eagle, becoming the 23rd player in program history to accomplish the feat.

Joining Eleko in a milestone performance was Ainhoa Cea (Irun, Spain/IES Pio Baroja Bhi/Lipscomb) who dished four assists to push her over the 500-assists threshold. Peyton Hill (St. Louis, Mo./Incarnate Word Academy) paced the Eagles in scoring with 20 points on a 6-of-12 showing from the field. She added seven rebounds and three assists.

How it Happened
Eastern got off to a sluggish start in the first quarter, missing 12 of its first 13 shots. EMU then made two of its next three attempts to close the quarter down 19-11 to the Cardinals.

EMU cut the lead to six with 7:50 remaining in the second quarter. From there, Ball State went on a 17-13 run to give the visitors a 10-point lead at halftime, 42-32.

The Eagles were again slow to start the half and Ball State eventually grew its lead to 21 points in the third quarter to make the score 63-42.

Despite the Eagles making five-of-eight three-pointers in the final quarter and going on a 10-0 run in the final minutes, they were unable to overcome Ball State's lead, falling, 83-68.

» Sisi Eleko's 28 double-doubles rank second on the programs' all-time list (since 1997). She needs four more to tie Ce'Nara Skanes (2020-2023) for the most in program history (31).
