Freshman netted her third goal of the season

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University's women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with the University of Toledo in Mid-American Conference action Saturday, Oct. 24, at Scicluna Field, snapping a three-game losing streak for the Eagles.

EMU struck first in the 32nd minute and held the lead into the final moments of the first half before the Rockets equalized in the 45th minute. The second half saw Eastern generate the bulk of its offensive pressure — eight of its 12 total shots — but neither side could find a winner through 90 minutes.

How It Happened

EMU broke through in the 32nd minute when Ella Miller (Mount Morris, Pa./Morgantown) finished at the bottom left of the goal off her left foot, with Lauren Yaquinto (Northville, Mich./Northville) and Meredith Werner (Broadview Heights, Ohio/North Royalton) each picking up an assist. The goal gave Eastern a 1-0 advantage.

Toledo pulled level in the 45th minute to make it 1-1 heading into the break.

The second half was largely controlled by EMU in terms of possession and shot volume. Olivia Sipsock (Medina, Ohio/Medina) was the most active attacker for the Eagles, testing Toledo's goalkeeper repeatedly. In the 87th minute, Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) made a crucial save to keep the match level, and the game ended 1-1.
