LOGGING MILES
Eastern will once again play a national schedule in 2025-26 with tournaments being played in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Ohio, and Washington, along with one in Mexico. In the fall, the Eagles will play in tournaments in five of the six time zones covering the United States, including Eastern (Georgia), Central (Kansas), Mountain (Colorado), Pacific (Washington), and Hawaiian. In the spring, the schedule sees the Eagles playing four times in California with one tournament each in Mexico and Florida.
When the postseason gets underway, the Eagles will play their first tournament of the year in the Midwest when they take part in the Mid-American Conference Championships, April 26-28, in Akron, Ohio. Should EMU qualify for the NCAA Regional event, they could play in California (Stanford), Florida (Tallahassee), North Carolina (Chapel Hill), or Texas (Waco).
HAPPY TO HOST
The Eagles will serve as tournament hosts twice in 2026, including once in Mexico and once in California. The first event of the spring slate will also be the first hosting opportunity for the Eagles as they, along with LPGA great Lorena Ochoa, will welcome teams to the Estrella del Mar Invitational, Feb. 8-9, at Estrella del Mar Golf Club in Mazatlán, Mexico. The second tournament comes one month later when EMU and USC will combine to host the inaugural GameAbove Invitational, March 9-10, at Rolling Hills Country Club in Palos Verdes, Calif.
FANTASTIC FACILITIES
The GameAbove Golf Performance Center opened its doors Jan. 16, 2024, for the men's and women's golf teams to utilize for their preparations each season. The two-story facility, perched elegantly overlooking the 18th green and Ford Lake, was made possible through an $8 million gift from GameAbove, a dedicated group of Eastern Michigan alumni. The facility stands as a testament to EMU's commitment to excellence in collegiate golf. This state-of-the-art training complex, spanning 13,000 square feet, is designed to propel the Eastern men's and women's golf teams to new heights of success. With locker rooms, meeting spaces, indoor putting and chipping areas, and cutting-edge simulators, the facility provides an unparalleled training environment for all elements of the game.
The building features a dedicated practice range, spanning 6,619 square feet, which offers student-athletes the opportunity to hone their skills with targeted training sessions. A specialized area covering 5,383 square feet has been designated for chipping and putting, ensuring that every aspect of the game is meticulously addressed in the training regimen. Additionally, the inclusion of two TrackMan 4 Simulators, totaling 1,974 square feet, adds a cutting-edge dimension to the training experience. These simulators bring the outdoor game indoors, allowing for precision training regardless of external conditions.
LAST TIME OUT: 2025 WNGI
Playing its first national postseason tournament, Eastern finished second as a team to Santa Clara at the 2025 Women's National Golf Invitational, played May 9-11, 2025, at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Ariz. The Eagles, who defeated four teams ranked in the national top 100 at the time, were led by Angelica Holman, who was the wire-to-wire leader with her Even-par 216 (69-74-73), giving her medalist honors by one stroke.
DOUBLED UP
The Eagles captured two individual titles in 2024-25 with Savannah de Bock winning the GolfWeek Red Sky Classic (Sept. 23-25) and Angelica Holman claiming the WNGI (May 5-11). The 24th and 25th tournament tiles won in program history, respectively, it marked just the sixth time the Eagles have taken multiple medalist honors in the same season and the first since the 2012-13 season when Alyssa Kwon won the Wolverine Invitational (Sept. 22-23) and Sarah Johnson captured the Rainbow Wahine Invitational (Oct. 30-31).
LOOKING BACK: 2025 NCAA COLUMBUS REGIONAL
Savannah de Bock shot 12-over 228 (75-76-77) to finish in a tie for 45th at the 2025 NCAA Columbus Regional, May 5-7, in Columbus, Ohio. The first player in program history to participate in an NCAA event, de Bock opened the tournament tied for 44th before climbing into a tie for 34th after day two.
LOOKING BACK: 2025 MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Eagles finished third at the MAC Championships, April 20-22, at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind., shooting 42-over 906 (301-310-295) to post the second-lowest score by an EMU squad at the MAC event and just the second score under 920 at the conference tournament. The team's first top three finish since taking second in 2015, the Eagles improved their score from 2024 by 66 strokes. Savannah de Bock and Julianna Go both shot 11-over 227 to tie for 11th while Erina Tan shot 13-over 229 to place tied for 18th and give EMU three top 20 finishers.
ALL-MAC SELECTIONS
The MAC announced its annual awards for the 2024-25 women's golf season, April 25, with EMU landing two players on the all-conference lists as Savannah de Bock was selected All-MAC First Team and Mariana Vega selected All-MAC Second Team. The selections are the first for the program since 2022 and marked the first time multiple Eagles were honored since the 2015 campaign. Historically, the selections for de Bock and Vega make them the 17th and 18th different players in program history, respectively, to earn All-MAC accolades and the first since Anna Watson, who currently serves as a graduate assistant with the program, was named All-MAC Second Team in 2022. The selection for de Bock marked the 31st honor attained by an EMU golfer and made her the 10th different Eagle to earn first-team honors while Vega garnered the 32nd all-time honor while becoming the 13th player to earn second-team honors. Additionally, the last time two or more Eagles earned All-MAC accolades in the same season came in 2015 when Kelsey Murphy was named All-MAC First Team and Karyn Lee Ping earned All-MAC Second Team.
ACADEMIC HONORS
Following the 2024-25 season, several Eagles earned academic recognition. Angelica Holman was named CSC At-Large Academic All-District, Julianna Go was tabbed for the WGCA All-American Scholar team, and Riley Kim earned a place on the Academic All-MAC squad.
