Eastern Soccer Picked to Finished Ninth in MAC Soccer Standings

Eastern Continues the Drive With Second-Year Head Coach Taylor Clarke
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University soccer program has been picked to finish ninth in the conference standings this year according to the votes tabulated in the 2025 Mid-American Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced Tuesday, Aug. 12.
According to the poll, which was constructed by the votes of the conference's 13 head coaches, the Eagles received 55 points while Western Michigan was picked to win the MAC with 135 points and eight of the 13 first-place votes.
The Eagles are set to begin their season Thursday as they are set to play host to the University of Cincinnati. The match is slated for a 4:30 p.m. kick at Scicluna Field.

Continuing The Drive
Going into his second season, Head Coach Taylor Clarke is ready to get back on track and continue what he started from last season with second year Associate Head Coach, Matt Hinds, and second year Assistant Coach, Zach Shuk. Joining Clarke's staff for her first season with the Eagles as an Assistant Coach, EMU welcomes in Meg Nermnich. Clarke and his team finished last season with an overall record of 7-6-5 and 3-3-5 in the conference. The Eagles were undefeated at home and finished the season with a two game winning streak.
Olivia Sipsock and Ella Holland in 2024
Junior Ella Holland played every minute in goal for the 2024 season. Holland's was fourth-best in program history since Maggie Manville in 2009 with a 0.78 GAA. She was also ranked seventh-best in the program with a .846 save rate and was awarded MAC Defensive Player of the Week. Junior Olivia Sipsock also had a strong performance in 2024, finishing the season with 1010 total minutes played with 12 points scored. Sipsock scored the only two goals to lock in the win against Youngstown State (Aug 25), and continues towards another strong performance this upcoming regular season.
