COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Savannah de Bock finished tied for 45th at the 2025 NCAA Columbus Regional, May 7, as the first regional competitor in Eastern Michigan University women's golf program history carded a 12-over 228 (75-76-77) over three days on the Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio. De Bock was one of six individual at-large qualifiers in the event played on the par-72, 6,319-yard course.
De Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) finished the tournament with a 5-over 77 in the final round. After shooting par over the first four holes of the day, de Bock carded a birdie on the par-3 fifth before recording a bogey on each of the final three holes to go out in 2-over 38 on the front nine. On the back, de Bock played the first six holes at 1-over before adding a bogey on 16. She pulled one stroke back with a birdie on 17 before finishing the round with a double bogey on 18.
With her collegiate season coming to an end, de Bock authored a major rewrite of the EMU record book this season as she finished with a season average of 73.1, the best in program history and 1.6 strokes better than the previous record of 74.7 set in 2015-16 by Kelsey Murphy. An All-MAC First Team honoree, de Bock recorded the four lowest 54-hole scores in program history as her 204 strokes to win the Golfweek Red Sky Classic (Sept. 23-25) lowered Anna Watson's 203 record of 211 by seven strokes. De Bock also broke the single-round record at the Red Sky event when she fired 65 in the second record to better the 66 recorded by Murphy in 2015. All told, it was one of seven rounds of 69 or lower de Bock recorded with the rest of the program having totaled 16.
Overall, Lyla Louderbaugh (University of Kansas) won the individual title at 12-under 204, finishing eight strokes ahead of two University of Arkansas players at 4-under, including No. 4 Maria Jose Marin and No. 45 Clarisa Temelo. Moa Svedenskiold (University of Houston) was fifth overall at 2-under 214 and earned the region's individual qualifying spot as the highest-finishing player not on one of the top five teams in the regional standings.
The five teams that earned advancement to the NCAA Championships, May 16-21, in Carlsbad, Calif., included No. 23 Kansas, who won at 6-under 858; No. 2 Arkansas, who was second at 3-under 861; host and No. 14 Ohio State, who shot 1-over 865; No. 39 University of Nevada Las Vegas, who was fourth at 4-over 868; and fifth-place finisher No. 10 Louisiana State University, who shot 18-over 882. No. 26 Houston (22-over 886) was three shots out of the final qualifying spot.
