Nemnich comes to Eastern after four years as student-athlete at Omaha

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Meg Nemnich has been named Assistant Coach of the Eastern Michigan University soccer team, as announced by Head Coach Taylor Clarke Wednesday, April 23.

Nemnich is a former player at the Summit League's University of Nebraska at Omaha, spending the last four years in Omaha as student-athlete, earning All-Summit Second-Team honors as a senior.

"We are really excited about adding Meg to our staff," Clarke said. "She brings a mentality that aligns perfectly with our program. She is coming from a championship level environment and will help move us closer to our goals. Meg has a very strong understanding of the game and will be able to help our players develop on the field."

During her time as a student-athlete at Omaha, Nemnich played in 69 matches for the Mavericks, including 37 starts, primarily in the midfield. She was credited with two goals and one assist in her career, highlighted by a game-winner against the University of North Dakota, Oct. 10, 2024.

"I'm truly honored to be at Eastern Michigan University and very grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the program and the Ypsilanti community," Nemnich said. "Taylor and Matt have already made significant progress in advancing the team, and I'm genuinely excited for the chance to help build on that momentum and work toward winning championships."

The Mavericks finished 10-3-5 in 2024 as Nemnich saw significant time in all 18 matches, drawing 17 starts. Omaha reeled off a trio of consecutive clean sheets in the 2022 Summit League Tournament en route earning its first-ever Summit League Title and first NCAA Tournament berth as a Division I program.
