Eagles entering new era under first-year Head Coach Taylor Clarke

2024 Schedule

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University soccer program has unveiled its 2024 schedule, which features 11 Mid-American Conference matches and seven out-of-conference matches, as well as two exhibitions, as announced by first-year Head Coach Taylor Clarke Wednesday, July 10.

Eastern is scheduled to open the regular season against Oakland University, Aug. 15, before a Big 12 battle at the University of Cincinnati, Sept. 1, which marks EMU's first-ever match against the Bearcats. The Eagles conclude their seven-match non-conference slate at Loyola University Chicago, Sept. 15.

Five of the EMU's 11 MAC match-ups will come at home, including the MAC opener against Central Michigan University, Sept. 19. The top-six in the MAC standings will qualify for the conference tournament, following Eastern's final regular season match at the University of Akron, Oct. 31.

With an NCAA Tournament bid on the line, the top two teams in the MAC standings will bypass the quarterfinal round at campus sites, scheduled for Nov. 3, before the remaining four teams will travel to the top seed for the MAC semifinals, Nov. 7, and MAC Championship, Nov. 10.

"We are very excited about the competition in the upcoming season," Clarke said. "Our non-conference will be a great set of games to help us prepare for our conference play."

Notes
» Eastern Michigan is scheduled to play three in-state foes in regular-season action (Oakland, Aug. 15; Central Michigan, Sept. 19; and Western Michigan, Oct. 13). The 2024 season will be the first time the Eagles have not played a road match in the state of Michigan in a season since 2000, marking the second time in program history EMU will not visit an in-state foe.
» The Eagles are scheduled to play three of its first four matches at home as EMU hosts Oakland, Aug. 15; Youngstown State, Aug. 25; and Purdue Fort Wayne, Aug. 29, only broken up by a road contest at UIC, Aug. 22. EMU has not played three of its first four contests at home since 2012 when the Eagles started the season with three-straight home matches, going 1-1-1 in the three matches.
» Eastern has four road non-conference matches scheduled, all of which are outside of the state of Michigan. Despite that, EMU's longest non-conference trip is 251 miles to Chicago, Ill., (at UIC, Aug. 22; at Loyola Chicago, Sept. 15). Out of the furthest non-conference trip from each season, 251 miles is the shortest since 1999 when the Eagles went to Youngstown State (225 miles). EMU's Sept. 1 trip to Cincinnati comes in at 249 miles while the trek to Valparaiso, Sept. 12, is 214 miles.
