YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – After a pair of four-meet weekends, the Eastern Michigan University track and field programs gear-up for their last regular season meet of the outdoor season. The Eagles will compete at the Billy Hayes Invitational, hosted by Indiana University at the Robert C. Haugh Complex in Bloomington, Ind., Friday, May 3.
Meet Information/How to Follow
The meet will begin with the women's hammer throw at 1 p.m., followed by other field events. Running competitions will start at 4 p.m., beginning with the men's 110m hurdles prelims. The meet will conclude with the men's 4x400m relay at roughly 8:45 p.m.

In the Race
Just three Eagles will see action at the meet. Ronnie Brandal (Huron, Ohio/Huron) and Kian Wiles (Hull, England/St. Mary's College) will run the 800m, and Marcus Kemp (Kitchener, Ontario/St. Mary's Kitchener) will compete in the 1,500m.

How it Happened – Penn Relays, April 25
After an 11th-place finish in the 1,500m by Paige Marchant (London, Ontario/Catholic Central), the eastern women notched two program top-10 marks.
On the heels of setting the program record in the 10,000m run last weekend (33:30.93), Esme Davies (Lake District, England/Queen Elizabeth Grammar School) shaved nearly 30 seconds off her 5,000m time, running the distance in 15:59.07 for a 10th-place finish. Davies' time improves her program top-10 standing, improving from No.7 to No. 3.
Anita Zaro (Timisoara, Romania/Faculty of Physical Education and Sport) also secured a program top-10 time, as she placed 16th in the 3,000m steeplechase, completing the event in 10:32.29, a time that places her fifth in Eastern history.
For the men, Kemp and Linus Vennemann (Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, Germany/Gymnasium "In der Wüste") saw action in the 1,500m. Kemp earned EMU's highest placing at the prestigious meet, finishing fourth in 3:43.58. Vennemann placed 21st in 3:49.08.
How it Happened – GVSU Extra Weekend Meet, April 25
The Eastern women controlled the 800m, as Eagles slotted first, third, and tenth. Tabatha Walford (Northamptonshire, England/Bishop Stopford/Nevada) finished first in a personal-best 2:08.16. Chloie Musta (Mesick, Mich./Cadillac) trailed closely, finishing third in an outdoor career-best 2:09.54. Sophie Emin (Easton, Pa./Easton Area/Rutgers) rounded out EMU's top-10 finishes, placing 10th in 2:14.67.
Elena Wheeler (Plymouth, Mich./Salem) and Savanna Owens (Mears, Mich./Hart) also ran outdoor personal-best times in the 800m. Wheeler slotted 42nd in 2:28.04 and Owens finished 44th in 2:29.32.
Marta Moreno (Wassenaar, Netherlands/American School of The Hague) carved out a PR (10:51.79) in the 3,000m steeplechase, improving her career-best time by nearly 20 seconds and increasing her program top-10 standing to No. 8.
The two Eastern men competing in the meet, Sam Peterson (Charlevoix, Mich./Charlevoix) and Grant Sweningson (North Tustin, Calif./Foothills) each earned personal-best times in the 3,000m steeplechase. Peterson placed eighth in 9:19.15 while Sweningson followed in 13th in 9:35.14. Each student-athlete shaved over 10 seconds off their previous fastest time in the event.

Eastern's lone competitor of the meet, Olivia Szylar (Itasca, Ill./Lake Park) placed 19th in the javelin throw with a toss of 18.34m (60-02).
How it Happened – Len Paddock Open, April 27
Micah Martin (Clinton Township, Mich./L'anse Creuse) headlined the meet for the Eastern women. She placed first in the high jump with an outdoor personal-best bounce of 1.75m (5-08.75), a leap that places her forth in program history, and ranks as the second-highest in the conference.
The Eagles' female jumpers continued their dominance in the triple jump, as Eastern took the one, two and three spots. Mariia Yelanska (Dnipro, Ukraine) leaped her way to first at 12.22m (40-01.25) while Antonia Woods (Winchester, Ohio/Groveport Madison) (11.85m (38-10.50) placed second, and Nyla Joseph-Guevara (Coral Springs, Fla./Fort Lauderdale) (11.07m (36-04.00) slotted third.
In the javelin throw, Erica King set a career-best and landed herself in the program top-10 at No. 9 via her third-place finish and 39.43m (129-04) heave.
Claire Allen (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich Community) earned silver in the discus throw, setting a personal-best with a 44.77m (146-10) sling, a toss that places her third in program history.
In the women's 200m, Saraiah Walkes (Manatee County, Fla./The-Out-of-Door-Academy) placed second, running the distance in an outdoor career-best, 23.67, ranking sixth on the EMU all-time leaderboards. Her time currently stands as the second-fastest in the MAC.
Josephine Oloye (Iwaro-Oka, Nigeria/Geomi Secondary School/Tayelolu Memorial) had a strong day as she earned two outdoor PRs. Oloye finished the 100m dash prelims in third in 12.05 and the 200m dash in fifth, completing the event in 24.32.
For the EMU men, Lachlan Cornelius (Queensland, Australia/Anglican Church Grammar School) earned the lone first-place finish as he topped all competitors in the 800m, running his way to an outdoor PR in 1:53.92. Ty Dailey (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) would earn silver In the event, finishing the two laps in 1:54.01.
Kayenn Mabin (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Central) carved himself out a career-best time in the 100m hurdles. After making the finals cut with a 14.59, Mabin shaved 0.45 seconds off his time, placing third in the finals heat in 14.14.
The Eagles furthered their strong hurdle performances into the 400m hurdles. Gabe Singh (Toledo, Ohio/Sylvania Northview/Oakland) grabbed a second-place finish in the event in 54.59. Singh was closely followed by Matt McKnight (Miami, Fla./Miami Norland Senior) who ran a career-best race, placing fifth in 58.26. Mabin tailed immediately behind in sixth, as he earned his second PR of the day, finishing the race in 58.68.
