SELECTION SHOW MONDAY: The three qualifying Eagles were announced during the NCAA Gymnastics Selection Show Monday, March 25, marking Ella Chemotti's third consecutive time hearing her name, and Raisa Boris and Alana Fisher's first.

HOW TO QUALIFY: Qualification for national competition is based on the individual competitor's six best regular-season meet scores, of which three must be away. To obtain the national qualifying score (NQS), the high score is eliminated and the remaining five scores are averaged. In previous years, this was known as the Regional Qualifying Score (RQS), which was changed for the 2019 season to reflect the new postseason format.

ELLA CHEMOTTI: With an NQS of 9.890 on beam, Ella Chemotti earned her third consecutive regional qualifying bid after a stellar season performance on the balance beam. At the Mid-American Conference Championships, the junior led the Eagles and tied for first place on the beam with her 9.900 score. With the win, the junior earned her first MAC title on the apparatus, however, Chemotti is no stranger to the center stage as she was the MAC bars champion in the 2022 season with a 9.900 in the event.

MORE ON STELLAR-ELLA IN THE MAC: As just the fifth MAC beam champion in school history, Ella Chemotti is the first to earn the title on the apparatus since 1998 when former Eagle J.J Cullom took the top spot with a 9.850. During the regular season, Chemotti continued to hold the top spot in the beam event as she led the MAC in the category for three consecutive years. Additionally, with her three straight first team honors, the 2022 MAC Freshman of the Year became the first EMU gymnast in program history (regular season All-MAC selections started in 2013) to secure the first team three-peat.

ALANA FISHER: Earning the bid for the first time in her career was Alana Fisher, who collected a NQS of 9.875 on vault. Her 9.900 during the MAC Championships tied for third place and marked the junior's second consecutive 9.900 score after doing so one week prior, and third 9.900 score or above of the 2024 campaign. Fisher earned her personal-best 9.925 on the apparatus at the Northern Illinois University triangular, Jan. 28.

RAISA BORIS: Nationally, Raisa Boris ranks 41st (according to Road To Nationals) with an NQS of 39.360 with her personal-best being a 39.525 which she secured this season. A four-time MAC Gymnast of the Week, Boris led the Green and White posting seven all-around victories in her senior season while garnering the second-highest all-around score in EMU program history with her 39.525 at Kent State University, March 3.

THE MAC GYMNAST OF THE YEAR: Raisa Boris, who also earned the qualifying bid for the first time, was named both the MAC Gymnast of the Year as well as the MAC Senior Gymnast of the Year after an incredible senior season. The last time an Eagle was named the MAC Gymnast of the Year and MAC Senior Gymnast of the Year was when Jolene Worley won the both titles in the 2008 campaign.

INDIVIDUAL MAC CHAMPIONS: Eastern Michigan has produced 33 individual MAC Champions since the conference meet began in 1981. Molly Parris and Ella Chemotti are the only Eagles on the active roster who have won individual MAC titles. Chemotti earned a career-high 9.900 to tie for first on bars in the 2022 season championships for her first MAC title before earning the feat on the balance beam, two weeks ago at the 2024 MAC Championships, March 23. The junior scored a first-place tying 9.900.

2024 REGULAR SEASON OVERVIEW: Eastern Michigan finished its 2024 regular-season campaign with a 7-9 overall record and sits 2-4 in the MAC, holding league wins over Bowling Green, Feb. 11, and Northern Illinois, Feb. 18. The team stands fifth in the MAC standings with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 195.595 and an average score of  195.105.
Overall, the team's 196.450 season-high score at Kent State, March 3, ranks third best in EMU program history and was just the second 196.000 team score or above of the season. For reference, the highest score achieved by EMU in its all-time history was a 196.600 set at Bowling Green State University, Feb. 13, 2016.
