Track and Field Sees 22 Student-Athletes Named to Indoor Track & Field Academic All-MAC Team

13 members of the women's team made the list, with nine male student-athletes making the cut
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced the 2024 Indoor Track and Field Academic All-MAC teams Monday, April 1. The Eastern Michigan University women saw 13 student-athletes make the list while nine members of the men's team made the cut.
A total of 141 female student-athletes were named to the list, led by Kent State with 26. Bowling Green had 22 honorees, while Central Michigan had 18 and Miami had 16 student-athletes represented.
On the men's side, the Golden Flashes paced the conference with 15 student-athletes on this year's squad. Eastern Michigan had nine honorees, while Akron saw eight named to the list. A total of 32 student-athletes were named to the men's team.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Eastern saw 13 members of the women's team named to the list, as Isabella Brent (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child), Natalie Buratczuk (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles North), Alyson Davis (Summerfield, N.C./Weaver Academy for Performing and Visual Arts), Tijana Japundzic (Belgrade, Serbia/Technical School "New Belgrade"), Aleah Johnson (Botkins, Ohio/Botkins), Maura Lane (Cary, N.C./Panther Creek/Campbell), Fleur van der Linden (Drunen, Netherlands/d'Oultremont College), Marta Moreno (Wassenaar, Netherlands/American School of The Hague), Chloie Musta (Mesick, Mich./Cadillac), Maleah Scott (Farmington, Minn./Farmington), Saraiah Walkes (Manatee County, Fla./The-Out-of-Door-Academy), Elena Wheeler (Plymouth, Mich./Salem), and Safeya Woolcock (Kingston, Jamaica/Immaculate Conception) each garnered the accolade.
