Gymnastics Set to Travel to Kent State

KENT, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team is set to travel to Mid-American Conference foe Kent State University, Sunday, March 3, inside the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center located on the Golden Flashes' campus.
FOLLOWING THE MEET: Fans can follow the meet through live results or watch the livestream via BoxCast. Links can be found on the EMU gymnastics schedule page located on EMUEagles.com.
KEY EAGLE: Awarded after every contest, the EMU gymnastics coaches choose one gymnast to anoint as that meet's Key Eagle. Senior Jordan Jankowski earned the honor after the MAC home victory over NIU, Feb. 18.
WINNING IS FUN: The Eagles finished their final home meet of the 2024 campaign with three event first-place finishes and an all-around win from Raisa Boris on their way to a 195.525-194.600 victory over Northern Illinois, Feb. 18. The win marked the ninth all-time over the Huskies.
LEAPING INTO THE TOP-10: During the third rotation of the EMU vs. NIU meet, Eastern Michigan finished its best rotation of the day with a season-high score of 49.175, topping its previous beam score of 49.125 at the Bowling Green State University Quad, Feb. 11. It marked the second consecutive time this season the Eagles have entered the 49.000 range on the event. The 49.175 beam score ranks sixth in all-time EMU history.
IN THE RECORD BOOK: EMU has earned a top-10 record book score four times this season. Most recently, the Eagles secured a 49.175 beam score in the victory over NIU, Feb. 18, good for the top-six best beam score in EMU program history. Below is a list of all top-10 scores this season.

FISHY SWIMS TO THE TOP: The Eagles began the meet on vault with a 48.775 team score. Alana Fisher took the top spot for EMU with a 9.800, marking her fourth season event victory. The last time the junior secured the top spot on vault was in EMU's most recent victory when she received a top-spot score of 9.850.
BORIS STAYS CONSISTENT: Senior Raisa Boris has stayed consistent on three of the four events as an all-arounder. On bars, her recent 9.850 vs. NIU, Feb. 18, was her sixth consecutive 9.800 or above on the apparatus. On beam, her 9.850 contributed to her fourth consecutive 9.800 or above. Finally, Boris' 9.825 on floor was the senior's eighth consecutive 9.800 or above in the event. Along with her great success on individual events, her all-around win versus NIU secured her fifth consecutive all-around win and her sixth overall this season.
IN THE RANKINGS: The team ranks 42nd in the NCAA rankings as of March 1, 2024. The highest EMU has been ranked in program history (started tracking in 1998) was the 2016 team that ranked 17th in the nation.

ON THE HORIZON: EMU continues its road slate as it readies to travel to Lincoln, Neb., to take on the Huskers of the University of Nebraska in the Ameritas Master's Classic quad meet that will also include Lindenwood University, and the University of Florida. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. CT, Saturday, March 9.
