YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team honored eight seniors in the conference victory over Mid-American Conference opponent Northern Illinois University Sunday Feb. 18, inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center. With its 195.525 winning team score, EMU secured its second conference win of the 2024 campaign as the Huskies scored a 194.600. 
 
"We have a very special team and today we celebrated our amazing seniors," said Head Coach Katie Minasola. "Each one of them performed so well today and we are so thankful for them. Molly, Mayleigh, Rai, Butler, Jordan, AG, and Soph for all the memories. We love you all," she finished. 

The Eagles (7-4, 2-2 MAC) finished their final home meet of the 2024 campaign with three event first-place finishes and an all-around win from Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center) with a score of 39.125, her fifth consecutive all-around win and sixth overall this season.
 
How It Happened
The Eagles began the meet on vault with a 48.775 team score. Alana Fisher (Athens, Ala./Athens Connections Academy) took the top spot for EMU with a 9.800. Abby Brushwood (State College, Pa./State College Arena) had the next highest Eastern score on the vault with a 9.775. 
 
EMU headed to bars for its second rotation scoring a 48.900. The Eagles were led by Raisa Boris who scored a 9.850, tying her season-high record as well as securing the top spot in the event. The next highest score for the Green and White was a three-way tie between Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla/ Park Vista), Jordan Jankowski (Frisco, Texas/Independence), and Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich. /Canton) all scoring a 9.775. Ella Chemotti tied her season-high score, previously scoring it at the home meet against Western Michigan University, Feb. 2. 
 
For the third rotation, Eastern Michigan finished its best rotation of the meet with a season-high score of 49.175, topping its previous beam score of 49.125 at the Bowling Green State University Quad, Feb. 11. EMU was led by Ella Chemotti who earned a 9.925, a season-high tying score previously scored at the season opener against WMU, Jan. 7. With this score, Ella Chemotti secured the top spot in the event. Also on the beam, Kyrie Lowe earned a career-high 9.825 and Jordan Jankowski entered the beam lineup for the first time in the 2024 campaign scoring a 9.750. 
 
The Eagles finished off the meet on the floor scoring a 48.575. EMU was led by Raisa Boris scoring a 9.825, securing the top spot in the event.
