Six Eagles Named to CSC Academic All-District List

College Sports Communicators unveiled its 2024 honorees

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Six Eastern Michigan University soccer student-athletes have been named 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, the group announced Tuesday, Nov. 19.
The six Eagles that garnered all-district honors include senior Maddie O'Farrell (Haslett, Mich./Lansing Catholic), juniors Secora Johnson (Galena, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) and Sarah Van Euwen (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake), redshirt sophomore Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford), and sophomores Kate Robinson (Madison Heights, Mich./Lamphere) and Rosalie Takacsy (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park). Johnson and Holland both earned the honor in 2023 while the other four Eagles earned the honor for the first time.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and must have played in at least 90% of their team's game or started at least 66% of them. Schools were limited to six nominations so all eligible student-athletes were not recognized as CSC Academic All-District.
O'Farrell, a biology major, was one of six Eagles to start all 18 matches in 2024. O'Farrell scored three goals and tallied one assist, which included game-winning goals against Purdue Fort Wayne, Aug. 29, and at Kent State, Oct. 27.
Johnson, a biology major, was one of 12 Eagles to play all 18 matches in 2024, making 16 starts. Johnson's season was highlighted by an 86th-minute equalizer against MAC champion Western Michigan. Johnson has played in 57-of-58 possible matches in her two-year career.
Van Euwen, an exploratory major, was one of six Eagles to start all 18 matches in 2024. Van Euwen netted the game-winning goal at UIC, Aug. 22. Van Euwen anchored a backline that conceded .778 goals per game, a figure that ranks third in the MAC.
Holland, an economics major, was one of six Eagles to start all 18 matches in 2024. Holland stopped 77 shots, which ranked second in the MAC while boasting a .778 GAA, the third-best in the MAC.
Robinson, a biology major, was one of six Eagles to start all 18 matches in 2024. Robinson tallied one assist on the season, helping the Eagles earn one point against Central Michigan, Sept. 19.
Takacsy, an exercise science major, was one of six Eagles to start all 18 matches in 2024. Takacsy tallied one assist on the season, helping the Eagles earn one point against Miami, Oct. 6. Takacsy played on the outside of a backline that conceded .778 goals per game, a figure that ranks third in the MAC.
