Holland first Eagle to earn MAC Player of the Week honors since March 23, 2021
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Redshirt sophomore Ella Holland was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a pair of clean sheets for the Eastern Michigan University soccer team. The MAC revealed its weekly winners Tuesday, Oct. 29.
Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) is the first Eagle to earn MAC Player of the Week honors since Sabrina McNeil (March, 23, 2021) and the first from EMU to receive the defensive variety of the award since Haley Tausend (Nov. 3, 2019).
Holland, who was the only player in the MAC to record two clean sheets and more than four total saves for the week, made a remarkable leaping save with just 40 seconds remaining to preserve Eastern's 1-0 win over Kent State, Oct. 27.
