YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -  The Eastern Michigan University rowing team is set to host the University of Dayton on Ford Lake in its last regular season competition Saturday, April 29. Start time is slated for 10 a.m. 

ON THE SCHEDULE: EMU will start the morning off with the Second Varsity Fours race at 10:20 a.m., followed by the Second Varsity Eights at 10:35 a.m., and the First Varsity Fours at 10:50 a.m. The First Varsity Eight and Third Varsity Four are set to conclude the day's races with 11:05 a.m., and 11:20 a.m., start times, respectively. 

SENIOR DAY, HOORAY: This Sunday's competition will honor the six graduating members of the Eastern Michigan rowing team. After the conclusion of competition, the team will celebrate Lauren Ahern (Farmington Hills, Mich.-Walled Lake Western), Chloe Hinojosa (Kewanee, Ill.-Kewanee), Kaialani Knox (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel), Claire McCurley (Harrison, Ohio-William Henry Harrison), Alexandria Parsons (Granville, Ohio-Columbus School for Girls) and Ariel Sutton (Indianapolis, Ind.-Scecina Memorial)

LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles last competed at the George Mason Invitational, April 23, on the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax Station, Va. 

The Varsity Four boat highlighted the action for EMU, coming back to take the fours Petite Final with a 8:23.2 time after placing fourth in their heat at 9:18.6. The First and Second Varsity Eights both moved on to their respective Petite Finals after placing last in the heat races. The First Varsity Eight's Petite Final time of 7:21.6 was the best finish of the day for EMU. 

GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN: The Green and White raced the Dayton Flyers last season, May 1, on Ford Lake. The team picked up three wins in the First Varsity Eight, First and Second Varsity Four races. 

EMU's Second Varsity Four boat opened up the teams last matchup with a win, finishing the 2,000-meter race in 8:28.28. In the next race, the Flyers had a late push to edge Eastern's 2V8 crew, 7:22.25 to 7:22.82. The Green and White's 1V4 team finished first in its competition with a time of 8:49.49, creating a gap of 16.71 seconds. The Green and White's 1V8 boat recorded the fastest time on the day, clocking in at 7:13.12. EMU's 3V8 wrapped up the morning with a time of 8:41.66 for second.

A FRIENDLY REMINDER: Spectators wishing to attend this weekend's competition can park and watch the day's races at Ford Lake Park. After the contest, fans can park and attend the Senior Day celebration and boat dedication at Lakeside Park at 12 p.m. Spectator parking at the EMU Boathouse is not permitted. 

ON THE HORIZON: Eastern Michigan will compete in the Colonial Athletic Championship, May 12, on Fisk Creek in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The Third Varsity Eight boats will kick off the race at 10:30 a.m.
