The Eagles' 2V8, 2V4 and 3V4 won their races on Ford Lake

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University rowing team raced the University of Dayton on Ford Lake today, April 29.
How It Happened
The Second Varsity Four B boat claimed the first victory of the day for the Eagles, finishing less than a second ahead of Dayton at 8:12.9. EMU's Second Varsity Eight boat competed next, taking first place in the 2V8 race at 7:11.95.
The Eagles' First Varsity Four and Varsity Eight squads took second in their races, crossing the finish line with 8:07.0 and 6:52.4 times, respectively.
Eastern Michigan's Third Varsity Four A boat recorded the final win of the afternoon with a 8:31.1, first-place finish over both of Dayton's 3V4 squads. The Green and White's Third Varsity Four B group placed third at 9:33.4

"We made another step and saw better racing out of the 1V and 2V. The team had some good competitive racing in the fours which is going to pay off in the 1V4 and 3V8," said Head Coach Kemp Savage. "It was great to get as many people on the water today as we did and it shows the growth of the program. And it was extra special watching the Joy cross the finish line on its dedication day."
