Gymnastics Captures Victory over BGSU on Senior Day

Eagles post season best team score in home win

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team defeated Bowling Green State University, 195.800-195.250, inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center Sunday, March 12.
The Green and White recorded their highest team score of the season against the Falcons with a 195.800. EMU led BGSU after all four rotations and topped the visiting team on both bars and floor.
How It Happened
The Eagles started the afternoon with a 48.700 on vault. Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich.-Canton) and Alana Fisher (Athens, Ala.-Alabama Connections Academy) posted dual 9.800s for third place overall to lead the team. Chemotti's score tied her personal high on the event.
In its second rotation, EMU tallied a 49.100 score on bars. Eastern's highest score on the apparatus came from Raisa Boris' (Brooklyn Park, Minn.-Park Center) career-high 9.925. The performance was good for first place.
The Green and White moved onto beam next and recorded a 48.975 event score. Chemotti topped the squad once again with a 9.900, first place effort.
Eastern Michigan finished the meet with a 49.025 team tally on floor. Boris notched another team-high score with her second consecutive 9.900 in the event to take top spot overall.
Boris earned a career-high 39.350 in all-around to finish first in the category. The junior's mark ties for ninth in program history.
