Gymnastics Finishes Sixth at MAC Championship

Three Eagles finish within top five event performers

KENT, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team finished sixth at the 2023 Mid-American Conference Championship with a team score of 195.175 inside Kent State University's Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center Saturday afternoon, March 18. 

Central Michigan repeated as the tournament champion with a 196.525 team total while Ball State University took second at 196.325. Host KSU finished third with a 196.175. 

How It Happened 
The Eagles began the afternoon on beam with a 48.750 event score. EMU's top score came from a 9.850 performance by Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich.-Canton) for fifth place. 

In the third rotation, Eastern earned a 48.975 team score on floor. Anna Grace McCullough's (Birmingham, Ala.-Briarwood Christian) 9.900 score topped the squad for fourth overall. 

The Green and White recorded a 48.425 on vault in the meet's fifth rotation. Alana Fisher (Athens, Ala.-Alabama Connections Academy) posted a team-best score of 9.750 on the event. 

Eastern Michigan finished the championship with its highest event total, a 49.025 on bars. Hadyn Crossen's (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel) career-high 9.900 effort landed her in the top spot among all Eagles and in fourth overall. Trinity Macy (Rowlett, Texas-Texas Connections Academy) and Hannah Hartung (Lincoln, Neb.-Lincoln East) added personal bests with 9.850 and 9.825 scores, respectively. 

Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn.-Park Center) was the sole all-around performer for EMU with a 38.975 score across all four events.
