Apichonlati Paces EMU at the Falcon Florida Classic

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) tallied a 54-hole tally of 222 (76-74-72) for 19th place on the final day of the Falcon Florida Classic, Feb. 7. For Apichonlati, it marked the 11th time in her career she has finished inside the top-20 at a tournament. Furthermore, the 222 equaled the Bangkok, Thailand, native's career-low for the three-round event.
Northern Illinois' Sydney Naro won the event with a 10-under par 206 (70-68-68) on the par 72, 6,069-yard Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club set up.
As a team, Eastern Michigan finished 10th at the 12-team competition, posting a score of 906 (309-303-294). NIU expanded upon its second-round lead to win the event by 10 strokes over Idaho, posting an 850 (284-280-286).
How It Happened
Apichonlati tallied five birdies and 35 pars over the course of the three rounds for the Eagles. Meanwhile, sophomore Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) tied for 25th with a two-day cumulative of 224 (77-76-71). It marked her first round of par-or-better this season, as Dull notched par-or-better at 44 of the 54 holes played for the event.
Junior Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) saved her best for last to card a 74 for a 231 (80-77-74) in a tie for 48th. Senior Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit) tied for 57th with a 235 (82-76-77) and sophomore Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) finished tied for 64th at 237 (76-80-81). Participating as an individual, senior Adeline Lau (Sa Rawak, Malaysia-SMK Bintulu-Michigan Dearborn) turned in rounds of 84, 81, and 81 to sit in 68th with a three-round score of 246.
