Eastern posts season-high team score in the setback

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team earned its best score of the season in a 196.600-195.175 setback to Western Michigan University Sunday afternoon, Feb. 12, inside University Arena. 

Six Eagles recorded career-best performances in the loss, including Raisa Boris' (Brooklyn Park, Minn.-Park Center) 9.900 on bars. 

How It Happened 
The Eagles began the afternoon on bars where the team earned a 49.150, its best event score of the night. Boris posted a career-high 9.900 to lead the event for EMU and land in a tie for first overall. 

Hadyn Crossen (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel) and Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla.-Park Vista) matched their personal bests with a 9.875 and a 9.800 on bars respectively. In just her third appearance this season, Hannah Hartung (Lincoln, Neb.-Lincoln East) also set a personal-best 9.800 on bars as well. 

In the second rotation, the Green and White scored a 48.400 on vault. Molly Parris (Hudson, Ohio-Hudson) and Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich.-Canton) recorded dual 9.725s on the apparatus to tie for the top spot among all Eagles. Chemotti's score was also good for a vault season best. 

EMU grabbed a season-high 49.000 floor total in its third rotation of the afternoon. Classmates Anna Grace McCullough (Birmingham, Ala.-Briarwood Christian) and Boris both matched their career bests with 9.850s in the event for fifth place overall. 

Eastern Michigan finished the day on beam with a 48.625  total score. Lowe notched a career-high 9.800 on the apparatus to lead the Eagles and take third place.
