Golf Closes Out the Fall at Georgetown Intercollegiate

ROCKVILLE, Md. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team closes out its fall campaign this weekend when it heads to Rockville, Md. to compete in the 39th Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate. Hosted by the Hoyas, the two-day, 54-hole event will be held at Woodmont Country Club with a shotgun start set for 8:30 a.m. on both Sunday, Oct. 15, and Monday, Oct. 16.
Designed by Alfred Tull in 1950, Woodmont's North and South golf courses have hosted 40 USGA Final U.S. Open Championship qualifiers and the 2022 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship.
The event will feature Campbell, Columbia, Eastern Michigan, Florida, Howard, Georgetown, Loyola, Navy, Penn, Princeton, Richmond, St. Joseph's, and William & Mary
EMU will use the lineup of senior Cam Kellett (London, Ontario/Saint Thomas Aquinas/Nevada), freshman Avery Mahoney (Burlington, Ontario/Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School), senior Patrick Deardorff (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston), sophomore Ryan Somerville (Aurora, Ontario/Aurora), and sophomore Logan Graf (Sylvan Lake, Alberta-HJ Cody).
The last time EMU was a participating member of the Georgetown Intercollegiate was during the 2016-17 campaign when Kyle Rodes and Nic Ross tied for fifth with a three-day total of 211. As a team, the Eagles finished 10-over par, 872, to claim fifth, one stroke behind DePaul and Rhode Island who tied for third. Notre Dame claimed first with a three-round total of 846, finishing six-under par, while Georgetown placed second at six-over.
