The Eagles finished ahead of nine other squads in the 13-team competition that was won by No. 25 University of Florida.
Cam Kellett (London, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas/Nevada) led the way for the Eagles as he carded a four-over 220 (74-72-74) while Patrick Deardorff (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) carded a 228 (75-78-75) to tie for 26th, missing a top-25 showing by two strokes. How It Happened
Kellett led the charge for the Eagles from the start as he fired an opening-round 74 before carding an even-par 72 in the second round, tying with Somerville for the low round of the tournament for Eastern. The 72's recorded by both players rank as the 11th-lowest stroke total of the season while their score-to-par ties for the eighth-best on the year.
Deardorff utilized a pair of one-over rounds (first and third) to finish second on the team in the overall standings, marking his highest finish among his teammates this season. Graff followed suit with nearly identical rounds played to finish third on the roster, marking his highest finish of the year after finishing fourth in the season-opening River Run Collegiate at Davidson, N.C.
Up Next
The Eagles return to action Feb. 5-6 when they head to Dade City, Fla., to compete in the MAC/A-10 Match Play Challenge. The inaugural edition of the event, which is a scheduling alliance in the sport of golf that matches MAC and Atlantic 10 institutions, will see the Eagles compete against an undetermined A-10 member each day.
