EMU Women's Golf Adds Riley Kim for 2023-24 Campaign

The Aldie, Va. native placed fifth in the 2022 Virginia High School League Girls' Open
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University Head Women's Golf Coach Stephanie Jennings announced today, Jan. 31, that Riley Kim (Aldie, Va.-Lightridge) will be joining the Eagles for the 2023-24 season.
"Riley is an emerging star in the prep golf world and EMU is so fortunate to welcome her for the 2023-24 season," Jennings said. "With a focus on pursuing a career in professional golf after college, Riley has made substantial strides in her game during her short junior golf career. She loves the game with great passion and I can only see her continue to reach new heights as a member of our Eagle squad."
Kim capped her stellar senior season by placing fifth in the 2022 Virginia High School League Girls' Open at Twin Lakes Golf Course. She finished three shots back of the leader in fifth place. Kim, who earned low medalist honors at the Region 4C tournament earlier in the postseason, birdied holes No. 5 and No. 13 on her way to a one-over 73. For her efforts, she earned all-state honors for the second consecutive year.
Kim finished the 2022 season with a nine hole scoring average of 34. She holds the school's lowest nine hole scoring average as well as the lowest 18 hole scoring average. A three-time team MVP, Kim collected the most medalist honors in program history.
Under the direction of Head Coach Eric Fritz, Kim was selected Washington Post honorable mention All-Metropolitan as well as All-LoCo accolades in 2022.
In her first American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), Kim won the Girls Division at the 2022 AJGA Preview at Westmoreland Country Club in Export, Pa.
