Eagles Suffer Setback at Iowa State Triangular

Chemotti earns 9.925 for first on beam
AMES, Iowa (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team finished third behind Iowa State University and UC Davis at the Iowa State Triangular in Ames, Iowa Friday night. The Eagles finished just half a point shy of leader Iowa State and a tenth of a point behind opponent UC Davis.
How It Happened
EMU began the night on bars, where the squad earned a 48.075 event score. Hadyn Crossen's (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel) 9.775 performance landed the senior in a tie for first on the apparatus with the Cyclones' Laura Cooke.
The Eagles second rotation came on vault and resulted in a 48.300 event score. Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn.-Park Center) and Alana Fisher's (Athens, Ala.-Alabama Connections Academy) duel 9.700s highlighted the event for EMU and tied for eighth place overall.
Eastern Michigan's third rotation on floor earned the team a 48.375 event score. Crossen once again posted the highest score among all Eagles with another 9.775 for fourth place.
The Green and White concluded the evening with a meet best 48.825 performance on beam, the squad's highest event score of the meet. Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich.-Canton) recorded an impressive 9.925, her fifth career beam score of 9.900 or better, to take first overall in the event. Crossen and Boris added 9.825 and 9.800 scores respectively to give Eastern a late meet boost.
