Soccer Voted to Finish 10th in MAC Preseason Poll

Eagles looking to better expectations as 2022 season gets underway Thursday
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team has been selected to finish 10th overall in the Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Poll, the conference office announced today, Aug. 17. The poll reflects the votes of all 12 head coaches in the conference ahead of the start of the season.
According to the poll, the Eagles received 39 points. Ohio University was voted into the top position with 131 points with Bowling Green State University and the University at Buffalo just behind the Bobcats with 127 points and 126 points, respectively. The trio of teams also earned a share of the 12 first-place votes with both OU and UB earning three votes each and BGSU claiming the remaining six.
Additionally, the coaches voted on the likely 2022 MAC Tournament champion with both the Falcons and Bulls garnering four votes and both Kent State University, who was fourth in the poll with 100 points, and the Bobcats earning two votes.
The 2022 season gets underway for the entire conference Thursday with Eastern playing host to Western Illinois University at 5 p.m. inside the field house at the Legacy Center Sports Complex in Brighton, Mich. Admission is free.
