Eastern Gymnastics Finishes Third at Kent State Triangular, Scoring 194.575

Molly Parris earns career-high 39.025 in all-around

KENT, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team finished third at the Kent State Triangular Sunday, March 6. The Eagles totaled 194.575, while Ohio State University earned first with a team score of 197.525, and Kent State University came in second with a 196.550.
"I am proud of this team and grit they showed today," said Head Coach Katie Minasola. "We have been battling some injuries and we are working hard to get some healthy bodies back in the line up. Little by little we are plugging away and I'm excited for what this team can do at full strength."
How It Happened
Eastern Michigan started the day on bars, led by junior Hadyn Crossen (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel), tying for seventh with a 9.800. Moving to beam it was freshman Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich.-Canton) who came up big, earning 9.900, tying for third. The performance by Chemotti marked her third score of 9.900-or-higher on the event. Eastern was in third place at the halfway point of the meet, totaling 96.975.
On floor, the Eagles were topped by sophomore Anna Grace McCullough (Birmingham, Ala.-Alabama Connections Academy) and senior Shannon Gregory (Edison, N.J.-John P. Stevens), both scoring 9.850. The performance is a career-high for McCullough. Finishing up on vault, senior Cali Harden (Superior Twp., Mich.-Saline) earned 9.775 to pace the Eagles' lineup. Freshman Emma Lewis (Grand Rapids, MIch.-Forest Hills Central) also earned a personal-best 9.750. The Green and White totaled 194.575, finishing third.
In the all-around competition, Junior Molly Parris (Hudson, Ohio-Hudson) earned a career-high 39.025 and placed second in her hometown meet. Sophomore Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn.-Park Center) finished third with a total of 37.975.
