BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team finished third at the BGSU Triangular today, Feb. 26. Western Michigan University came out on top, scoring 195.775, while the host of the meet, Bowling Green State University, totaled 194.800 to claim second. Eastern finished with 189.925.
How It Happened
Eastern Michigan started on bars where it was led by sophomore Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn.-Park Center) who scored 9.825, taking first. EMU was in third place after the first rotation with a score of 48.425. In the second rotation, the Eagles took to beam, totaling 47.900. Boris again led the lineup, scoring 9.850, followed by senior Caitlin Satler (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) who earned 9.825. The pair tied for second and fourth, respectively, as Eastern remained in third place with a team total, 96.325.
On floor, sophomore Anna Grace McCullough (Birmingham, Ala.-Alabama Connections Academy) earned a career-high 9.825. Finishing on vault, senior Cali Harden (Superior Twp., Mich.-Saline) topped the squad, scoring 9.775. Eastern finished third in the meet with a team overall score of 189.925.
Boris totaled a career-high 39.025 in the all-around competition, tying for third.
