The newest Eagles bring a wealth of talent to Ypsilanti for the 2023 season

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Eight high school standouts have inked their signatures to National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers with the Eastern Michigan University soccer program, Head Coach Scott Hall announced today, Nov. 18. The newest members of the program will join the Eagles over the summer in time for the 2023 season.

"This is one of the best recruiting classes we have had the pleasure to bring to Eastern Michigan," Hall said of the newest Eagles. "They all have had very successful careers on high level ECNL club teams and will bring a wide array of talents that I feel will help us win games. Off the field, each player possesses great attitudes and leadership abilities to take us to the next level. We cannot wait to see these eight talented players competing for Eastern Michigan in 2023 and beyond."

Hailing from five states, including two staying home in Michigan, the signing class adds depth at all positions on the field for Hall's squad with one goalkeeper, two defenders, three forwards, and two players slated for multiple positions on the pitch. Joining the Eagles are Michiganders goalkeeper Catie Riddle (Westland, Mich.-Churchill) and forward/midfielder Kate Robinson (Madison Heights, Mich.-Lamphere). The newcomers list also includes three student-athletes from Ohio in Olivia Sipsock (Medina, Ohio-Medina), Cameryn Susey (Westerville, Ohio-Olentangy Berlin), and Sarah Van Euwen (Avon Lake, Ohio-Avon Lake); one from New York in Rosalie Takacsy (Orchard Park, N.Y.-Orchard Park); one from Pennsylvania in Maddi Cowburn (Bradford, Pa.-Bradford Area); and one from Wisconsin in Josie Langhans (Sun Prairie, Wis.-Sun Prairie West).

The class includes several individuals with outstanding superlatives, led by the offensive prowess of Cowburn, who has scored over 100 goals and chipped in over 100 assists in her prep career. Sipsock will come to Ypsilanti having earned All-America accolades in the high school ranks while Langhans has previously been invited to and participated in a national team camp and was set to play in England before COVID canceled the event.
