Men's Golf to Battle Strong Field at Purdue Fall Invite

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team heads to West Lafayette, Ind. to compete in the Purdue Fall Invitational this week. The two-day tournament begins on Monday, Oct. 10, and runs through Tuesday, Oct. 11.
The 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,465-yard Kampen Golf Course.
According to this year's early Golfweek rankings, 10 of the 15 teams are ranked in the top 100, with four squads being in the top 100. The field features No. 7 Tennessee, No. 33 LSU, No. 44 Little Rock, No. 45 Purdue along with Indiana (51), Illinois State (57), Memphis (72), Nebraska (82), Louisiana Tech (99), Iowa (100), VCU (135), Ball State (148), Central Arkansas (197), Eastern Michigan (208), and Maryland (218).
EMU will use the lineup of freshman Ryan Somerville (Aurora, Ontario-Aurora), junior Patrick Deardorff (Clarkston, Mich.-Clarkston), senior Cam Kellett (London, Ontario-Saint Thomas Aquinas-Nevada), freshman Logan Graf (Sylvan Lake, Alberta-HJ Cody), and freshman Cooper Eberle (Richmond Ky.-Madison Central). Playing as individuals will also be freshmen Victor Caliguri (Cincinnati, Ohio-Elder), Nathaniel Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario-Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute), and Sam Yono II (West Bloomfield, Mich.-Brother Rice).
