The Eagles battled top-notch competition at the Joe Piane Invitational

MEN'S BLUE DIVISION RESULTS | MEN'S OPEN DIVISION RESULTS | WOMEN'S GOLD DIVISION RESULTS

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) --
The Eastern Michigan University cross country program displayed a solid showing at the University of Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational today, Oct. 1, in South Bend, Ind. EMU competed in three races in the Hoosier State: the Men's Blue Division (five miles), Men's Open Division (five miles), and Women's Open Division (5K).

"It wasn't our best day," said Director/Head Coach Sue Parks. "We're a better team than what we showed today. All we can do is learn from this experience and focus on turning things around in our next meet."

"We competed hard today," said Associate Mark Rinker. "We beat some good teams but collectively we are coming home motivated to get better and be ready for Wisconsin and MAC. Josh was impressive today, passing 100 people after one mile on the Notre Dame course is hard to do, I'm excited to see his continued progress this year."
