Saturday’s race will be the sixth meeting between the Eagles and Crimson Tide

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team will start the 2021 spring season with a duel at the No. 16-ranked University of Alabama, Saturday, March 6. The races will take place on the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa, Ala. at 9 a.m.

"We're super excited. The last time we raced was down here and it was over a year ago," said Head Coach Kemp Savage. " We have had a few great practices so far and we will get in a few more before we race on Saturday. But, the coaching staff and the team are very excited to get the season started."

The Eagles competed against the Crimson Tide and Southern Methodist last season, Feb. 29, 2020, during EMU's spring training trip. Saturday's race is the sixth meeting between Eastern and Alabama.

EMU will begin the day at 9 a.m., racing in the V4+ at 2000 meters, followed by the V8+ (2000m) at 9:15 a.m. From there, the V4+ and V8+ teams will race every other on a 1500-meter course starting at 9:40 a.m.
