ROCHESTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving program will compete in its final dual meet of the 2021 fall slate, traveling to Oakland, Nov. 12. The meet will be held at the Oakland Aquatic Center with the first event scheduled to start 5 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles will enter the weekend with a 1-1 record in dual meets after falling to Mid-American Conference foe Akron, 161-138, Nov. 6. Senior diver Bethany Berger (Batavia, Ohio-Glen Este) swept both of the 1-meter diving events versus Akron, capturing first place in the first event with a score of 270.68 and placing first in the final diving event with a score of 292.58.

In the pool, senior Ali Staver (Bettendorf, Iowa-Pleasant Valley) took first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:04.08. Sophomore Sav Mouat (Tecumseh, Ontario-All Saints) won both the 1000-yard freestyle (10:17.27) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.07), while freshman Lucie Fioux (Clermont-Ferrand, France- Godefroy de Bouillon) also tabbed a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.96).
 
SCOUTING OAKLAND: Golden Grizzlies have begun the 2021 fall slate 4-1 in dual meets, winning four of its last five. Oakland has won four-straight meets, defeating the UIC (Nov. 6), Grand Valley State (Nov. 5), Xavier (Oct. 23), and Toledo (Oct. 23).
 
HISTORY VS. OAKLAND: The Green and White hold a 20-16-1 advantage over the Golden Grizzlies in the all-time head-to-head series. In the last 10 meets between the two programs, EMU has defeated Oakland six times. The last time the two schools met, OU defeated the Eagles 182-118, Feb. 5, 2021 inside the Oakland Aquatic Center. Prior to the loss, the Eagles had won four consecutive meets over Oakland.
 
UP NEXT: The Eagles will head to Granville, Ohio to compete in the Denison Invitational, Dec. 2-4, hosted by Denison University.
