BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- In a season-opening road meet, the Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving program defeated Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green State University, 168-131, today, Oct. 30, inside Cooper Pool.
The Eagles finished with 10 first-place finishes and earned a season-opening victory for a second consecutive season. The Green and White will begin the 2021-22 campaign with a 1-0 overall record and conference record.
"It was a great team victory today," Head Swimming Coach Derek Perkins said. "We had great performances in the pool and on the boards.Camryn Hughes and Bethany Berger both earned victories on the diving end. Carlin Hudson was spectacular, helping us in a variety of events, and Abby Szadorski and Kelsey Andrusak both tallied their first wins as Eagles! We have a lot to work on, but off to a good start. Very pleased with the win today."
Up Next
The EMU swim and dive teams will host the University of Akron, Nov. 6, at Saline High School for the Eagles first home meet of the 2021-22 season. The first event will begin at 2 p.m.
