Dull Provides Strong Start at Rocket Classic

PORT CLINTON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Freshman Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) is tied for ninth-place and led the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team during Monday's first two rounds of the Rocket Classic at the par-72, 6,118-yard Catawba Island Club. Dull's performance helped EMU tie with Bowling Green for sixth in the standing in the 10-team field.
Dull shot rounds of 77 and 76 for a 36-hole total of 153, four strokes ahead of junior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) in a tie for 20th with a 157 (78-79). Sophomore Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) is one stroke behind Apichonlati and tied for 23rd with a 158 (81-77).
Central Michigan has three players among the top eight, which gives the team a 14-shot lead entering the final round. CMU is at 599 (+23) and is followed by Toledo (613; +37) and Cincinnati (622; +46).
The final round of the tournament will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start tomorrow.
