PORT CLINTON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Freshman Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) posted her third top-10 showing in four career events to lead the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team at the Rocket Classic Tuesday, Oct. 12. The Eagles finished fourth with a team score of 936 (315-312-309) at the par-72, 6,118-yard Catawba Island Club, as Central Michigan ran away with the championship by 25 strokes.
Dull shaved a shot off per round to finish with a 228 (77-76-75) in eighth-place. Sophomore Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) finished tied for 17th with a 235 (81-77-77), while junior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) was 20th with a cumulative tally of 236 (78-79-79).
CMU's Casilda Allendesalazar captured medalist honors with a six-over 222. The freshman finished three shots ahead of teammate and fellow Spaniard Claudia Salvador at nine-over 225.
Sophomore Sophia Wygonik (Westland, Mich.-Livonia Franklin) returned to the lineup after missing last week's Shirley Spork Invitational to take 31st with a 239 (79-82-78). Junior Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit) tied for 43rd overall with a 246 (87-80-74) to close out the team scoring.
Playing as individuals, freshman Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) and sophomore Paige Zolciak (Perrysburg, Ohio-St. Ursula Academy) added a 238 (82-82-74) and a 260 (89-82-89), respectively.
EMU quickly returns to action this weekend at the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational, Oct. 16-18, in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
