Swim & Dive Announces Winter 2021 Competition

Eastern enters the winter portion of its schedule with a 1-1 record after the fall slate
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University Head Swimming Coach Derek Perkins and Head Diving Coach Buck Smith announced EMU's remaining competition schedule for the winter 2021 semester today, Jan. 4.
Eastern will return to competition Saturday, Jan. 16, at Jones Natatorium, hosting Grand Valley State University and University of Findlay at 1 p.m.
The Eagles will then return to Mid-American Conference action, traveling to Bowling Green, Ohio to take on Bowling Green State University, Jan. 29, at 5 p.m. Nearly one month later, Eastern Michigan will host the EMU Last Chance Meet, Feb. 26-27, welcoming BGSU and the University of Toledo to Jones Natatorium.
Back on the road, EMU will continue its conference slate, taking on Ohio University, March 6, at 1 p.m. at the Ohio University Aquatic Center.
Breaking from the normal tradition of having NCAA Championship competition at the end of the season, qualified divers will compete at the NCAA Zone C Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich., March 11-13. Divers that make it through, along with any swimmers that qualify for the NCAA Championships, will compete March 17-20 in Greensboro, N.C.
EMU will trek to Buffalo, N.Y. for the second consecutive season to take on the University at Buffalo, March 27, at 1 p.m.
For the second season, Eastern Michigan will not host a traditional "senior day" at its last home meet. Instead, it will celebrate with an intrasquad scrimmage, dubbed the "Senior Day Extravaganza," April 3, at 1 p.m. in Jones Natatorium.
Eastern will finish out the 2020-21 season with the MAC Championships, April 15-17 at Jones Natatorium. This will be the ninth time the EMU women's swimming and diving program has hosted the MAC Championships.
