GOODYEAR, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – Under much improved scoring conditions at the Loyola Intercollegiate, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team jumped into fourth-place with a 573 (292-281) Sunday, Feb. 23. EMU improved two-spots on the leaderboard and is just five strokes off the pace set by Drake (286-282=568).
Senior Zach Sudinsky (McKinney, Texas-Boyd-Stephen F. Austin) left his mark on the course by posting a career-best 66 on the par 72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club. Sudinsky noted an eagle on the par-5 11th hole while also adding five birdies to sit in a tie for fifth. His previous single-round low was a 67 in the opening round of the EKU Raising Canes Intercollegiate, Sept. 15, 2018.
Junior Ty Celone (Long Sault, Ontario, Canada-St Joseph's Catholic) is just outside the top-10 with back-to-back rounds of 71 for a 142. Zack Mason (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Blyth Academy Lawrence Park) posted a 147 (73-74), while Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) and Luke Pelak (Mattawan, Mich.-Mattawan) are in 60th (74-75=149) and 77th (81-70=151), respectively.
Playing as an individual, Tyler Rayman (Ostego, Mich.-Ostego) is tied for 52nd with a 148 (77-71).
