Eagles Picked to Finish Second in the MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Mid-American Conference announced the results of the 2019 preseason coaches poll Aug. 28.
The four-time defending MAC Champions were picked to finish second with 119 points while receiving three first-place votes. Toledo was selected to finish at the top of the standings, earning 135 points and seven first-place votes.
Last year, the Eagles totaled a final team score of 76 points at the 2018 MAC Championships, with three harriers finishing within the top-15. Eastern's four straight championships are tied the most consecutive team titles in conference history, with the last streak occurring from 1989-1992 (Ohio).
Eastern Michigan begins the 2019 season on Friday, Sept. 6 at the George Dales Invitational hosted by Western Michigan Univesity.
