YPSILANTI, Mich. & DETROIT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) —The Eastern Michigan University soccer team kicks off its 25th season when it plays host to in-state foe Oakland University Thursday, Aug. 22, at 5 p.m. EMU then motors into Detroit for a clash with the University of Detroit Mercy at Titan Field at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25.
    Live stats for EMU-Oakland will be available on EMUEagles.com. Eastern versus Detroit Mercy will be streamed on ESPN3. SERIES HISTORY: The Eagles hold an all-time record of 2-6-1 against the Golden Grizzlies. The two wins have been in the last two meetings. In 2018, Eastern Michigan defeated Oakland, 1-0, on the road with a fourth minute goal by Sabrina McNeill (Whitby, Ontario-Henry Street). Redshirt Junior Mabel Dunn (Ottawa, Ontario-Mother Theresa) made her first career start in goal for the Eagles in the matchup. 
    Against the Titans, the Eagles have an overall record of 7-7-4. Eastern Michigan emerged victorious during the 2018 meeting, notching a 2-1 win on Kristin Hullibarger (Brooklin, Ontario-Donald A. Wilson)'s 10th career goal and a score by Madeline Olson (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: Oakland enters the season with a 3-0 loss to Bowling Green and a 1-1 draw against Utah Valley State in their exhibition slate. Oakland returns top-scorer Alexa Sabbagh from the 2018 season, where the Golden Grizzlies finished with an overall record of 4-11-4.
    Detroit Mercy started the season with a scoreless draw against Robert Morris and a 1-0 loss to Central Michigan on their exhibition record. The Titans open the season hosting Northwood Aug. 22 before facing the Eagles on Sunday. Detroit Mercy returns 2018 scoring and points leader Julie Ann Piechocki, who was also named to the Horizon League All-Freshman team in 2018.

ROLLING OUT AT HOME: Eastern Michigan opens the season at home for the first time since the 2017 season. The Eagles are 6-3-3 all time in home season openers. The most recent home opener win came on Aug. 22, 2014 against Fordham, 2-0. 

SUPER SENIORS: Returning for their redshirt senior seasons, Hullibarger and Peyton Davis (North Ridgeville, Ohio) look to leave their mark on EMU soccer. Hullibarger led the Eagles with eight goals and 21 points during the 2018 season and grabbed Second Team All-MAC honors. Hullibarger enters the season with 17 career goals, which ranks ninth all-time in program history.
    Davis returns for her final season after sitting out the 2018 season due to injury. In the season prior, she led the team with five goals and 12 points while earning Second Team All-MAC and Academic All-MAC honors.

OFFENSIVE POWER: Of the 27 goals scored by Eastern Michigan in 2018, 26 were scored by returning members to the 2019 roster (Hullibarger (8), McNeill (7), Olson (3), Kerr (2), Frantz (1), Osborne (1), Cobetto (1), Frederick (1), Tausend (1), Chatzis (1)).

STARTING LINES: Eastern Michigan returns five of the six players who started all 21 matches during the 2018 season (Frederick, Hullibarger, McNeill, Osborne, Shira).

MAC PRESEASON POLL: The Eagles were selected to finish seventh in the Mid-American Conference in 2019 after finishing the 2018 campaign with an overall record of 10-11, 5-6 in the MAC. The Eagles return 23 of 26 members from the 2018 squad.

CONFERENCE VARIETY: EMU's 2019 schedule features seven different conferences. In addition to the MAC, the Eagles will take on teams from the A10, ACC, BIG Ten, Horizon, and MVC during non-conference play.

IRONMAN OF THE MAC: Scott Hall enters his 21st season at the helm of Eastern Michigan's soccer program. Hall is the longest tenured coach in the Mid-American Conference, and his three MAC Regular Season titles are tied for the most in conference history. Hall has compiled a 190-163-51 career record and 118-79-27 mark in MAC play.

OH, CANADA!: The 2019 Eastern Michigan roster features 11 Canadian players. The 11 members tie the 2018 roster record for most Canadian members on one team in EMU soccer history.

ON THE HORIZON: The Eagles continue the 2019 campaign with five road games. Next weekend, the Green and White will take on in-state rival Michigan State Aug. 29, before traveling to take on the Louisville Cardinals Sept. 1
 for the first time in team history.
