Rowing Prepares for Cooper Invitational

Eagles head to Cherry Hill, N.J. for their first regatta of the spring season
CHERRY HILL, N.J. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University rowing team heads to Cherry Hill, N.J. to compete in the Cooper Invitational hosted by Bucknell University Sunday, April 7.
The Eagles competed in the Cooper Invitational last season, earning two top-three finishes in the Varsity 4+ and Second Varsity 8+ with times of 9:02.55 and 7:55.59, respectively. The Varsity 8+ recorded a fourth-place performance in the Grand Final, besting Duquesne University and Villanova University with a time of 7:18.07.
Racing is set to begin at 8 a.m. with the Varsity 8+ preliminary heats, followed by the Second Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+, and Novice 8+/ Third Varsity 8+ qualifying competitions. Eastern Michigan will race in the third heat in the 1V8+ competition, scheduled for 8:20 a.m., the second heat for the 2V8+, scheduled for 8:40 a.m., the first heat of the V4+, scheduled for 9:20 a.m., and the lone Novice 8+ heat, scheduled for 9:40 a.m. The day's Grand Finale/Petite Finales are set to start at 10:30 a.m., following the same order as the preliminary heats.
