Women’s Golf Heads to Dolores Black Falcon Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team will see its final action before the Mid-American Conference Championship when it competes in the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at the par 72, 5,829-yard Stone Ridge Golf Club. The 36-hole tournament, hosted by Bowling Green State University, begins Saturday, April 6, at 9 a.m. with the second round to follow Sunday, April 7. Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.
Five Mid-American Conference teams are included in the field: Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, and Western Michigan. Other teams in the field include: Cleveland State, Chicago State, Detroit-Mercy, Illinois-Chicago, and Oakland.
EMU placed fourth at last year's Black Falcon Invitational, posting a team score of 623 (308-315). Then-senior Thelma Beck recorded her fourth top-20 finish of the season, finishing tied for 15th with a score of 153 (79-74). Then-sophomore Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) added a strong performance as well, finishing two strokes behind Beck with a 155 (76-79), earning a 21st place finish.
The Eagles last competed at the Perry Park Spring Fling March 30-31, finishing with a score of 620 (308-312) to place third overall. Leading the way for the Green and White was junior Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford), who recorded her first top-five finish with a career-low two round score of 152 (73-79) to tie for fifth place.
Stevenson leads the lineup for EMU, followed by sophomore Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International). The No. 3 and 4 spots are held by juniors Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) and Katelin Lawson (LaSalle, Ontario-Ridge Community-University of Tampa). Senior Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School) rounds out the lineup for the Eagles.
Taking part as individuals in the event are Green Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) and Abby Livingston (Novi, Mich.-Novi).
