Duncan Preps for NCAA Championships

Duncan will represent the Eagles at the NCAA Championships for the fourth straight season
AUSTIN, Texas (EMUEagles.com) - Senior Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) will represent Eastern Michigan University's swimming and diving team at the NCAA Championships, March 21-23, inside the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.
Duncan's return to the national stage makes her the first Eagle in EMU history to qualify for the NCAA Championships all four years of her career. The Galesburg, Ill. native is prepped to compete in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke events, as well as the 200 Individual Medley, looking to improve on her finishes from 2018. Last year, Duncan placed fourth in the 100 Breast with a time of 58:36, earning All-American honors, while placing 14th and securing All-American honorable mention in the 200 Breast. In the 200 IM, Duncan earned a 66th-place finish at the 2018 NCAA Championships, touching the wall with a time of 2:03.08.
The current Green and White record holder in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke bettered both of her top marks at the Mid-American Conference Championships, Feb. 27-March 2. Named the conference's 2019 Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Year, Duncan earned individual championships in both events with a 100 Breast NCAA 'A' qualifying time of 58.25 and a 200 Breast NCAA 'B' qualifying effort of 2:07.38.
The NCAA Championships begin Wednesday, March 20, while Duncan will begin competition Thursday, March 21 with the 200 IM. Preliminary heats will begin at 9 a.m. CT and will be streamed live here, with final heats set to start at 5 p.m. CT with coverage on ESPNU.
