Eastern Swimmers Wrap Up Season at CSCAA National Invitational Championships

The Eagles were highlighted by a program top 10 time and four personal best performances

Results
OCALA, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swimmers finished the 2025-26 season at the 2026 College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championships at the F.A.S.T. Facility in Ocala, Fla., Thursday-Saturday, March 12-14.

The swimmers were highlighted by Nehir Oz (Istanbul, Turkey/Cevre) and her program No. 9 time of 16:44.48 in the 1,650y freestyle for an 11th place finish. Additionally, Eastern saw four personal best times and two qualifications for the final sessions.

How it Happened
The Eagles had 11 swimmers qualified to compete in the meet, with eight in individual events, and four relay teams.

Nina LaRosa (Bay Village, Ohio/Bay) qualified for the B final in both the 50y breaststroke and 100y breaststroke on days one and two of competition, swimming the 50y breaststroke prelim in 28.67, and the 100y breaststroke in 1:02.83. In the 50y breaststroke B final, she finished in 11th place in a personal-best 28.09 and earned 16th in the 100y breaststroke B final in 1:02.32.

Shayne Patrick (Reno, Nev./TMCC Magnet High School) swam a personal best time of 58.42 in the 100y individual medley. In addition to Oz, Marianna Fardella (Serres, Greece/40 Geniko Lykeio Serron) also swam a personal best in the 1,650y freestyle with a time of 16:55.62.
