This is the first time since 2016 the Eagles have had three All-MAC selections

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference announced that members of the Eastern Michigan University soccer team were named to the All-MAC teams, Nov. 7. Redshirt junior Sabrina McNeill (Whitby, Ontario-Henry Street) was named to the first team, junior Lindsey Shira (New Baltimore, Mich.-Anchor Bay) was selected to the second team, and freshman Amanda Cripps (Bradford, Ontario-Trinity Catholic) was given second team and all-freshman team honors.

McNeill repeats as a first team All-MAC selection after being named to the team in 2018. She has totaled seven goals for 14 points on the season. The Whitby, Ontario native eclipsed the 50 career points mark in the quarterfinal round of the MAC Tournament, Nov. 3, becoming the 11th Eagle in program history to record at least 50 points in their career. In addition, the redshirt junior was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week, Nov. 3.

Shira has shown versatility on both sides of the field. Playing a team-leading 1,757 minutes at defender, Shira has helped the Eagles keep their opponents to one goal or less nine times this season. The New Baltimore, Mich. native has also tallied six goals and three assists for a team-leading 15 points. In addition, she ranks sixth in the conference in game-winning goals with three.

Cripps proved herself to be an impact player for the Eagles. Whether it was starting or coming off the bench, Cripps has been able to create offensive chances for EMU. The freshman has recorded 55 shots on the season, 25 of which were on goal. In addition, the Bradford, Ontario native has scored six goals, tied for the second-best mark on the team, while her 12 points rank third. Her six goals on the team are tied for third in program history for most goals scored by a freshman.

Eastern Michigan continues their run in the MAC Tournament against Ohio University tomorrow, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Bowling Green, the highest seed in the tournament.
