Lexy Alston, Vittoria Greco and Sam Lenaghan will join the Eagles for the 2020 season

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University soccer Head Coach Scott Hall announced three signees to the 2020 roster Tuesday, Nov. 19. Lexy Alston (Amherst, Ohio-Marion L. Steele), Vittoria Greco (Brooklin, Ontario-Brooklin), and Sam Lenaghan (Toronto, Ontario-Havergal College) will join the Eagles for the 2020 season.

"We are honored to have these three student-athletes choose Eastern Michigan," began Hall. "They are outstanding students who each carry above a 3.5 GPA, as well as fantastic athletes who can all push to get in to our talented lineup. Best of all, they are flat out winners."

Alston joins the Eagles from Marion L. Steele High School, where she was a four-year letterwinner for the Comets. Over her career, she has scored 56 goals and tallied 26 assists, leading her to the All-Ohio second team three times as well as All-Southwestern Conference first team honors four times. In addition, Alston has been selected to the All-Lorain County team for four years, and was named the Lorain County Player of the Year in 2018. The Amherst, Ohio native has been named the Southwestern Conference Player of the Year, as well as been selected to the All-Greater Cleveland team three times.

"Lexy is the third player to join our roster from Rob Miller's Cleveland Soccer Academy teams," said Hall. "She is an incredible athlete who uses her strength and pace to dominate opponents. She can play anywhere on the field and loves to run at players, get in behind, and make teams uncomfortable."

Greco is a four-year letterwinner and four-time team captain for Brooklin High School and five-year veteran of the Ontario Professional Development League's (OPDL) Whitby FC. She is a five-time team captain of her OPDL squads, also logging every minute of play for her team in those same seasons. Greco tallied eight goals and 14 assists across 19 matches during the 2019 season. The Brooklin, Ontario native also received consistent call-ups for Darby FC of Ontario's League 1 over the past three seasons.

"We were lucky to find Vittoria late in the recruiting process," noted Hall. "She is a hard-nose defending midfielder who can also get forward and create attacking moments. She is not afraid to tackle and mix it up in the middle of the field, so she will fit into the MAC very well."

Lenaghan is a three-time letterwinner and two-time captain for Havergal College's soccer team. During her time as a Gator, Lenaghan helped guide the squad to back-to-back Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association (CISAA) Championships, back-to-back Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) National Championships, and back-to-back undefeated seasons. In addition, the Toronto, Ontario native led Havergal in scoring both seasons. The incoming freshman is also accomplished in the club ranks, garnering an OPDL League Championship, an OPDL League Cup Championship, and an OPDL Charity Cup Championship with the Toronto Nitros. The Toronto, Ontario native also spent time with Ontario League 1 club DeRo United in 2019.

"Sam comes to us from DeRo United, which is a team full of Division I soccer players," explained Hall. "She is a great one-on-one defender that rarely gives the ball away and loves to build from the back. We can use her in wide spaces and as a wing back or outside back. On top of that, she is a great student of the game."
