CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (EMUEagles.com)
– The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team completed its weekend at the Virginia Challenge Saturday, April 21 in Charlottesville, Va.
 
There, redshirt senior Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland-Mountain Ridge) set an impressive personal record in the 5000m with a time of 13:58.91, which is the first time an Icelander has broken the 14:00 barrier and also breaks his own national record.
 
Additionally, freshman Tyler Johnson (Dayton, Ohio-Stivers School for the Arts) led the 200m duo by finishing ninth with a time of 21.471, just beating out freshman Owen Richardson (Basingstoke, England) who placed 10th with a time of 21.472.

The Eagles head into another busy schedule next weekend Thursday-Saturday, April 26-28, as they send representatives to the Hillsdale Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich. and the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa.
